The Greyhounds

Fragile and fluid, The Greyhounds recharge the immediacy of folk music with their unique canon of original, narrative songs.

The Greyhounds were originally born from a folk festival commission exploring the setlist of Anne Briggs’ original and iconic recordings; endeavouring to honour the impact of this momentous catalogue and the traditional songs she revived during her early career.

They have since moved on to create bespoke soundtracks and song cycles for Sonya’s other theatre project including FERAL and Opal’s Comet.

“Such artistry is a pleasure to see…it was just beautiful”

(Esther Ferry-Kennington Todmorden Folk Festival Director.)

“…transfixed by the mix of modern keys, cello and Sonya’s voice which acts as both songstress and story teller…it was a really beautiful set”

(‘Even the Stars’ independent music reviewer at Head for the Hills, Ramsbottom Festival.)
